Over the phone, Jeantel said she could hear Martin telling Zimmerman to “get off,” testimony that could prove Zimmerman was the aggressor. Jeantel appeared to become frustrated several times during West's cross-examination of her, including the point at which West suggested the court could break until the morning so she'd have more time to review the deposition transcript. “No, I'm leaving ... a liar she is!!! Trayvon supporters, can you explain this?
Trayvon Martin left the 7/11 at 6:22 pm. It is a *15* minute walk from that 7/11 to the fiancees house. Zimmermans phone call with the 911 dispatcher ends at 7:13.
If Trayvon was "Just trying to get home," why was he still "Just trying to get home" OVER *FIFTY* minutes later?!
Also, no deflections like "Why did Zimmerman get out of his truck?" Just answer the damn question for once!
@KoolKat, it is 15 minutes WALKING. AT MOST! Second, the rain never got heavy. The most it did was sprinkle. Third, his girlfriend didnt call him until 7:12!
Answer: I agree with Believe. What is it that you want to hear?
where did you get the time 6:22pm from? According to the police report which has Zimmerman's sworn statement. He said at 7:00pm he sees Martin walking inside the gated community from his truck. Zimmerman calls the non-emergency police # to report a suspicious person. makes a comment that he's "sick and tired of these asshole punks getting away with it". Even though he knows nothing about Martin, doesn't know where he's been or where he's going, yet makes the assumption that this guy is up to no good. (wow)
He says Martin approached him but then ran off. um ok... There's an old adage - if something doesn't make sense then its not true. In all my years of life & experience I have found this to be very accurate. This is what you call CYA. Lie to make people think the other person was the aggressor.
At 7:10pm he sees Martin again (coming back from the store) He calls the 911 dispatch and tells them he is following Martin because he thinks M has committed a crime - again he has not witnessed anything other than seeing him walking. The dispatch tells him to stop following & police are on the way. The 911 call ends at 7:13pm. Phone records show Martin is on the phone with girlfriend from 7:10pm.
Her statement includes the conversation she had with Martin and what she heard before the line went dead. She said Trayvon told her he is being followed by a man and he's scared, she tells him to run but then she hears a man's voice say "What are you doing here?" she hears Martin say "Why are you following me?" she hears what sounded like an altercation and Martin screaming "leave me alone" then the line goes dead.
Zimmerman told police he briefly lost track of Martin. Then he says Martin approached him (again) and they started arguing. Zimmerman said he reached for his phone but then Martin punches him in the nose, throws him to the ground and begins slamming his head into the sidewalk. At 7:17pm police arrive and Martin is pronounced dead at 7:25pm.
I find it hard to believe is that between 7:13pm and 7:17pm all of those things that Z claimed happened, actually happened. Thats 4 minutes for him to first be following M, then lose track of him, then M approaches Z, they get into an argument, then the fight breaks out and Z is able to pull his gun and shoot! (this means the safety had to be off otherwise he wouldn't have been able to shoot so quickly which means Z took it off before he made contact with M - which begs the question why??). Z would have us think all of that took place in 4 minutes? I'm not buying it, its just not consistent with reality.
I think what really happened is consistent with the girlfriend's version. Z approached M said what he said then immediately attacked M, as they fought Z pulled his gun & shot him.
One detective who questioned Z at the station said he didn't believe Z was telling the truth. According to that detective, the slamming of Z's head to the ground wasn't consistent with the physical evidence at the scene nor the wounds Z sustained. The first person to arrive on the scene was a neighbor. he claimed that Z was on top of M. He said Z asked him if he had a phone and to call his (Z's) wife and tell her he just shot somebody. strange thing to ask.
The witnesses accounts are confusing. There are witnesses who say they saw Martin on top yet other witnesses say that they saw Z on top of M. I read there were 17 cops who questioned about 11 different witnesses and there were a lot of conflicting notes from these interviews. Also 2 witnesses who told police that Z was on top stated the police tried to get them to change it to Martin (by way of the color of their shirts) being the one on top - sounds like some of them just wanted to close the investigation.
Side Note: to the guy who asked about "trace amounts" of THC in victim's blood. Do you know what trace amount means? It means a very small, insignificant amount. It also means that Trayvon didn't smoke anything for approximately 1 to 3 weeks prior to that night. The trace amount found was so minute that it registered less than 2 nanograms. If he had smoked anything even up to a week prior it would NOT have been trace amounts it would have shown as a significant amount.
And let me advise you that its quite common for the average teen to have significant amounts of THC in their blood. Marijuanna is so easy to get and they all share it with their friends so for you to insinuate that all those things are rare or difficult is laughable.
Seriously you're pretty ignorant if you don't know that.

What are your thoughts on Trayvon Martin?
Hey Everyone.
I want to discuss Trayvon Martin, this is a topic I have wanted to talk about for a while but like most people out there when I heard the story I immediately came to a conclusion, in my case I thought this was a kid who was racially profiled and killed because of the color of his skin and his attire, and thought this man should be immediately charged, tho I still believe George Zimmerman should be charged with the death of Trayvon Martin, my view have changed over the past few weeks after giving the opportunity to hear the facts of the case that are before us
So we all know the story so it really comes down to the picture you personally paint in your head after hearing the facts that have been reported, and the conclusion you come to, I just wanted to share my views and get a feeling on how the public is now feeling about this case now that things have calmed down
I personally believe that George zimmerman profiled Trayvon. At first I thought it was racially profiling but after it was confirmed he said “ punk” and not “coons” I backed off the racial profiling but still believed he was profiled. During the 911 George Zimmerman says “these assholes always get away”, well who are “these assholes” ? who ever they are George zimmerman had profiled Trayvon as one of them.
With in the past few days more picture and evidence have been released to the public, photos of George Zimmerman pictures of his injuries and autopsy on Trayvon Martin. First I wanna say that THC coming up in Trayvon system, I don’t think that should have anything to do with this case, I used to smoke weed every single day, and know people that still do and trust me, weed smokers are not violent people. The pictures of George Zimmerman injuries, are interesting. At first in the police tape it did not look like Zimmerman had any injuries, now that the pictures are out it is clear there was mutual combat, however are the consistent with stand your ground law,? Meaning are his injuries enough for him fear for his life and use deadly force? If im on the jury ,I have to say im not seeing it, his injuries look like he was in a fight. Not that his life was in danger.
What I believe happen is that George zimmerman was following Trayvon, you hear Zimmerman say on the 911 tape “ hes checking me out” . Well was Trayvon “checking you out” or was he staring at Zimmerman because he was following him, I mean come on if someone was following you wouldn’t you turn around and look at the person? I know I would. Then on the 911 tape your hear Zimmerman say “hes running” and what sounds like Zimmerman also running after him. Now I want everyone to think about that, image you are Trayvon, you are 4 hours from home, you have no weapons on you, you are allowed to be there and you turn around and notice this guy (zimmerman) following you, than you start to run and this guy is running after you and catches up. Trayvons girlfriend said she heard Trayvon say to Zimmerman “ why are you following me” and zimmerman say “ what are you doing around here” I’m sorry but Zimmerman is not a cop, he has no badge, Trayvon did not have to answer to him. To be honest, Trayvon probably felt threaten, I would be to if I was in his shoes. Wouldn’t you,?
I personally believe Zimmerman picked a fight , and Trayvon got the best of him, the marks on the back of Zimmerman head do not look like he was slammed on the pavement, to me it actually look like he was clawed , like trayvon scratch the back of his head.
To me George Zimmerman should be convected of 2nd degree murder and locked up
What are your thoughts, ???
Also look for the upcoming debate website embracedebate.com . Coming soon.
Answer: My thoughts are these -
No matter what you think you know about the case, you don't know everything. The facts of the case have all been reported by a media which is biased - and not just on one side at all.
The delay in arresting Zimmerman was normal. It is very tempting to say that it was a racist system acting in favor of the white guy, but it is far more logical to realize that a DA will not file charges unless they can make them stick. They are not in the business of clogging up the courts with cases they don't think they can win.
There are plenty of cases that take longer to investigate than this one - and in this case both sides have said that the evidence is very thin - none of the witnesses saw the actual act; you don't really know what was on the 911 tape because what was released was doctored by NBC, and you don't know if the entire tape was released.
The police routinely withhold key evidence from the press so that witnesses cannot come forward claiming they saw something that they really only read about.
Whether Trayvon was racially profiled or not we will never really know, and that's unfortunate. One way or another, it will be proven in court - and there will most likely be appeals, either by Zimmerman or by Trayvon's family.
What is truly shameful is the way that the media and the public reacted to this case - everyone jumping to conclusions, everyone willing to just ignore the laws that protect the accused, everyone willing to ignore "due process" and to try and convict Zimmerman in "Street Law".
It is embarrassing to me to live in a civilized country and see the mob mentality that chased Zimmerman from his home and his job, that trusts the system so little so as to force him into hiding in fear of his life.
I am not defending him, nor am I accusing him - I believe that in this country we have a process that protects the innocent until they are proven guilty - and in this case that system broke. I don't believe that there can be a fair trial anymore.
Read your history - perhaps the most famous case involving this kind of mass hysteria and mob mentality was that of Sacco and Vanzetti, who were put to death for treason in the 1920's. Evidence was supressed, the trial was a joke - but the entire nation (including the government) was out for blood and they got it. Years later exculpatory evidence was found that was likely to have proved their innocence, but the deed was done.
A more recent example of this kind of mob hysteria happened in Crown Heights in the 1990's. A caravan of Jewish worshippers accidentally struck and killed an African American child who had run out into the street. Riots ensued; this was called a blatant racist attack on the part of the Jews, and in the midst of the riots Lemrick Nelson stabbed and killed Yankel Rosenbaum, an Australian man who was visiting his brother - who wasn't even there at the time of the crime.
You want to see Zimmerman convicted of 2nd degree murder and locked up - but you are speaking out of a limited knowledge of the facts and circumstances of the case. Best to say that you want the truth to come out in the trial, that you want all sides to be heard and for justice to prevail.

how is the prosecution going to prosecute george zimmerman?
based on the facts about the case, how is the prosecution going to go after zimmerman? what kinds of questions and tactics would they use to prosecute him? i know that they are going to ask him questions and then spring a trap. what are those questions?
Answer: this is what i would do if i was the prosecution. i would break down the evidence and set up a timeline. if it is a short timeline, then the prosecution could say that it was murder. the prosecution can say that george did not use proper restraint and fired needlessly. however if it was long then the prosecution will try to say that george just got tired and shot mercilessly. the jury will have to decide on whether or not the timeline indicates what george stated from the beginning. the prosecution needs to have the witnesses to solidify a conviction. if the person who saw trayvon martin on top of george reach for a gun, then the prosecution will probably lose. so far this is what i would do as a prosecutor. now the defense could state that george walked away from trayvon after george realized that trayvon was a kid. if witnesses state that trayvon followed george and threw the first punch, then george will probably not be convicted. the defense will/should state that george held onto his gun and called for help. if there is any evidence that george was gettin his head bashed in and nose broken and trayvon was grabbing for the gun several times, then the prosecution will probably lose the case because trayvon should have known to use some form of diplomacy to stay away from a person with a gun holstered to their hip. why would anybody try to fight and gamble their life away with someone who is walking around with a loaded gun. girls do not attack guys when they hit on them. it seems that the prosecution will rely on the public pressure and expect the jury to as well. if this is the evidence and the comlete scenario, then i would call it a loss for trayvon and his family. never argue with a person who has a gun no matter what. common sense should sink in real quick!

trayvon martin case?
i am not trying to start a race war on yahoo answers im just wondering. i heard that the killer had a broken nose and blood on the back of his head when he arrived at the precinct is this true?
Answer: Yes that is what the reports say. There are also a few eye witnesses that say the killer was losing the fight. The question is who attacked who? On the 911 tapes George Zimmerman was clearly angry before he interacted with Trayvon, and he was pursuing Trayvon and the 911 dispatcher told him to stop following him.
