How do I interpret a dream that my kitchen appliances were on fire?

Last night, I had a dream that a fire started in my kitchen. It started with the stove, and I wasnt really concerned about that in the dream. But then, the mixer that I (we) received as a wedding present caught fire, and I was really upset. Any ideas?

Answer: To see a kitchen in your dream, signifies your need for warmth and spiritual nourishment. It may also be symbolic of the nurturing mother. Alternatively the kitchen, represents a transformation.

Please remind me all the ups and DOWNS of having a baby at a young age?

Were not super young, we have stable jobs, cars and a home. But were not old and rich yet. Still in college but almost done. Just need an insight, we have an extra room and we have a good income, but just curious on your thoughts and opinions?

Answer: 'Not old or rich yet' lol that made me laugh, anyway. I'm 23 and hubby is 29 we just had our first baby 2 months ago! My husband had a great job that pays all our bills and I'm lucky to be able to stay home! We are not rich or well off we have enough money to live a comfortable life and I'm completely happy with that!!! We don't own our own home mainly because we live in a great rental and we are really happy! Money isn't everything just remember that it's not a sure fire thing for happiness!!
As for age I feel I'm still young but I wouldn't change it for a thing! We have a great support network and I know when bub is a little older that I will be able to have a night out every now and then without my baby! I'm lucky to have my husband that is a wonderful father! That's the key you need to have a strong and incredibly stable relationship before bringing a baby into the world otherwise having a child will be so much more difficult!
Do what you 2 feel is right! If u feel ready then that's what is right for you both!!

Need to find a good book for summer reading?

I need a good book for summer ready i almost finished my required reading and need one more random book. The book needs to be around the reading level of a 14 year old and preferably under 250. The shorter the better.

Answer: I am a teacher and you cannot imagine how delighted I was to read your request. I have a list of over 1000 books for students. These materials range from Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, and Advanced Readers. I hope that from this selection you will find something of interest. At the end of our school year, each Reading teacher provides their students with a booklet with titles and authors. What I like to do during the last few days when basic 'learning' is over, is to provide a 'book talk' and my students will check off the books they think they will want to read over the summer based upon the few details or highlights I give them. They love my book talks, and throughout the summer, will discuss with me (on Facebook) their thoughts and ideas about what they have read.

At the end of every school year, the 'incoming' 8th graders will have a LESSON ASSIGNMENT for the summer from the Social Studies, Language Arts/Reading. Science, and Math teachers. They come to school prepared to give us their completed assignments for their first year grade. I also give awards to the students who really write a nice essay or provide a project (poem, song, art, design, etc) from the story they have read. I always try to include all cultural reading so that my students will not be limited in their knowledge of other cultures. This year's book was, 'The Skin I'm In" by Sharon G. Flake.

Whats going on with North Korea and America?

Ive been watching the news, and I always hear about N.K having missiles, and that they are testing them, and theyre planning attacks, but to be honest, Im not sure why. Does anyone know what America did that would make them angry? Or are they simply trying to get attention?
Also, is anyone worried by N.K? Do you feel worried that they will actually bomb us? Any facts or personal thoughts are appreciated.

Answer: First, don't worry, North Korea does NOT have the capabilities to place nukes into missiles yet. And even if they did, they don't have the missile technology to shoot anywhere near America.

The tensions with North Korea has been around since the first Korean War. After WW2, North Korea was intrusted to the Soviet Union and the South was intrusted to the United States. Both sides pushed there influence on these two territories. North Korea became a Communism while the South became a Democracy. North Korea wanted to reunite the Koreas under Communist ideology so invaded the South. America intervened and after a long war it ended in a "armistice"

It is a strong possibility that war with North Korea could happen. But more then likely, it won't happen unless North Korea attacks first. We won't allow a major attack, we will intervene if it is believed they are going to use nukes but other then that we won't attack first. Through the past years Korea has repeatedly threatened to attack, even sunk a ship and fired a few artillery shells but never went full out.

This has always been a strategy of North Korean officials to scare western countries into negotiating for more aid and food. Once they got what they wanted they would wait a couple months and start over again.

The thing that has caused the threats now to be more in the spot light is because North Korea threw out the armistice agreement, which technically means North Korea and South Korea are in full out war. And with the increase of troop movements to the border, and preparations made on artillery teams ready to start war, increases the possibility to war.

The two Koreas have been in a technical full state of war from the very start. A armistice (Basically a cease-fire) just means a agreement to end the fighting, without a peace agreement this means the war is still going.

If you look at the speeches by North Korean officials announcing the open state of war they say "Any actions will be looked upon in the sense of open state of war" meaning anything done to THEM will be looked at in the sense of open war, meaning, they more then likely are not going to do anything themselves, only saying "You do something, we will do something."

What is the psychological condition called in which a person has trouble separating things they dream

or imagine from reality?

For instance, if they were to dream, or even just explore the scenario in their head, of becoming fired on monday and then when they were getting ready to go to work on Wednesday, they wouldnt know if they had been fired or not. If they were fired in the real world, they might wonder if it actually happened.

I am not asking how to treat this. I learned about it in a class in high school, and want to remember the name of it.

Answer: I have that problem alot. differentiating reality from thoughts or dreams, daydreams, things like that. i have that among other things, and was diagnosed with schizophrenia / major depressive disorder with psychosis.

The Indians grew tobacco and smoked pipes, rolled leaf, where did this tradition originate? Do you agree on this theory: When prehistoric man first invented fire, it took him a while to get the spark and then the flame and then the full-blown fire. After several generations of improving on a design as man continues to be good at, some smart tribesman in a cave came up with the idea to light a stick or rolled leaves and "sell" or "trade" his services of being a firestarter to other people in the commune or even in other tribes. He would light his "cigar" or pipe at that time made of perhaps something other than tobacco, from the flames of his fire and smoke it until it was ready to relight his fire or a neighbors and he would have the needed fire to do it quickly. I truly believe this is how smoking got its start. Its also why so many traveling salesmen smoke big cigars today. Also, its why Indians passed around the communal peace pipe. What do you think?

Answer: I think that you have a very active imagination. Unlike Europeans, who have a tendency to abuse tobacco, the indigenous people of North America almost exclusively use tobacco as a ceremonial drug reserved for council meetings. It was almost never rolled into a cigar shaped anything. Some tribes would hollow out a corn cob and stuff that with tobacco leaves (which was the origin of the corn cob pipe), but usually it was smoked in a very elaborate pipe, often given as a gift.
By the way women often had the duty of keeping the fires going so there was little need for a “firestarter.”

In fact, the sole reason that the human population is so great today is because alot of people engaged in promiscuity over the ages. In a sense, lustful thoughts are the driving engine of human life.

So why does the Bible say its wrong to have lustful thoughts?

Answer: There is not any temptation that we can't say "no".
We are to flee every temptation.
God's Word is the key to defeat sin.

Lust can ruin a marriage.

God's Word says that God gave "them" over to their lusts that they might burn with passion and receive within themselves the just penalty of their sins. Obviously, lust is wrong, destructive, and bad.

Answer: The dictionary definition of lust is "1) intense or unrestrained sexual craving, or 2) an overwhelming desire or craving." The Bible speaks of lust in several ways. Exodus 20:14, 17 (NLT), "Do not commit adultery. . . Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else your neighbor owns," or Matthew 5:28, "But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart." The Christian faith is about selflessness and is marked by holy living (Romans 6:19, 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 30, 6:19-20; Ephesians 1:4, 4:24; Colossians 3:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, 5:23; 2 Timothy 1:9; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16). The goal of each person who has put his/her faith in Jesus Christ is to become more and more like Him each day. This means putting off the old way of life of which sin was in control, and conforming one's thoughts and actions to the standard put forth in Scripture. Lust is in opposition to this ideal.

Nobody will ever be perfect or attain sinlessness while still on this earth, yet it is still a goal for which we strive. The Bible makes a very strong statement regarding this in 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8, "God has called us to be holy, not to live impure lives. Anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human rules but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you." If lust has not yet gripped your heart and mind, ready yourself through a life lived above reproach to combat the temptations of lust. If you currently struggle with lust, it is time to come clean before God and ask for His intervention in your life, so that holiness can be a mark of your life as well.

Thought on a philosophical question: How can nations justify allowing its soldiers to kill people in war?

What makes the arbitrary declaration of war suddenly permitable for rpeople to kill, take the life of a soldier on the other side of the battle fiedl. Dont give me geneva convention stuff. and wars of war...what are your thoughts

Answer: First .. every uniform wearer doesn't ready to "kill the people" things. As u know many man and woman who wear a uniform but doesn't touch a weapon to aim someone.

With simple calculation only % 30 of military people had training to live combat and maybe % 5 had further training to be a "solution handlers" .. let me give a simple example about that.

A carrier, how many people serve at a carrier? 6k? maybe more .. let's face it .. how many service mans and/or woman's had further combat train to cut someones throat? % 2 ? maybe % 1 ? .. maybe less ..

I doubt that .. maybe marines who serve at carrier .. that's all.

You don't need killer instinct to push the buttons, or throw the cruise's 1000 mile away.

Second .. Firing to paper targets and blow someones poor brain out are totally different things, and that kind of business aren't good for everyone.

That's why during basic train they elect people for further jobs, with little push and lot of experience they can "smell" who had guts who not .. u don't want send some people to front lines who "frozen" under enemy fire .. when they choose the people who had "capacity" rest can handle it training and training.

Third .. Take a life is responsibility, serious one .. believe or not. Every trigger addicted can fire a weapon but shoot against "right" targets at "right" time isn't a "piece of cake" .. unfortunatelly today we had to many trigger addicts under uniform.

That's why so many friendly fire and civilian casualities around us .. this is a shame for a decent soldier.

No Sir !! We can't act like a bunch of punks who had semi's, this isnt' acceteable situation for a warrior.

I serve my country almost a life long but I never shoot or aim to a child or elder nor a mother, fear and/or panic never .. ever blocked my brain .. because I had proper training and I had lot of combat experience.

Am I kill the people? H@ll yeah .. but not for fun or fear .. I did that because that was my job and I did my job well during my service.

Am I kill some one just for hate? Or revenge at civilian life?

Clearly No. I still had that capacity but I don't want to use it against no one, even criminals .. I'll defend my family or friends If necessary but thats it .. because I'm not a killer, just a soldier.

Number two, more importantly, should be to invoke feeling in the "reader" and leave "them" with a thought. Sorry.

Answer: The best poems that ever poured through my hands had no intended purpose or objective. Whether anyone else in the world feels anything upon reading them is inconsequential, although appreciation is gratefully accepted.
The experience that precipitates the poem is the fire that ignites the poets fancy. This can be an experience of nature or the inner workings of the heart or soul. Everything that can be experienced is a treasure ready to spark and crystalize into words.
The breathless experience where the writer is in awe or in tears is something priceless. It may take years of devoted writing or it may wander in like a wild wind and churn the waters in an instant.
There are times when the poem writes itself or this experience of awe and wonder pours through the hands with a will of its own to inspire and uplift. The only image I can use that approaches conveying this experience is soaring on the wings of an eagle or hawk. In the southwest, from a mountaintop, you can see for 50 miles in all directions. The world stops and the fire of discovery ignites the landscape, figuratively speaking. There is something other worldly about this mountaintop experience.
The poet's inspiration could and is more likely in my opinion to strike unexpectedly than to be caught like a chased bird that tears away in consternation and concern.
The poem at its best gives the flavor of fragrance, or possibly even gives an updraft that catapults the reader into awe and wonder. When the reader's tears wet the page, whether for joy or sorrow, what poet could not feel the greatest possible award is now theirs?
All the rest, the objectives you mentioned, can be monitored afterwards. It can be studied and felt and worked with, honing the skills for future creations.
In one spontaneous experience of Now, the poet touches the hem of Silence and all technique is unconscious, like a great athlete, there is only the microsecond of now without contemplating alternatives, just being and going in this moment.
This in no way is a criticism of any of the important aspects of poetry you mention. It simply points to the mountaintop any poet or poetess should not fear to climb every day by writing another few lines or a poem. Everyone of those techniques or objectives will prepare you for that day when the wind upwells and draws you toward the sun. Like a fledgling bird in the nest, we strengthen our wings every day, not knowing when our parent will push us out of the nest and all we can do is spread our wings and soar.

How can I get home health care for my grandmother?

My grandmother is 80+ y/o. She lives in Louisiana with my father . Over the past 2 years shes had 2 open heart surgeries and a pacemaker. She keeps collecting fluid around her heart and in her leggs( Shes also a diabetic). Lately shes been in and out of the hospitial and my dad is becoming unable to take care of her. Now, she has no strength at all. Shes been falling, she cant even turn herself over in the bed anymore. My father pours concrete for a living and it requires him to be gone during the daytime hours. Hes living paycheck to paycheck so if he stays home to take care of her they would literally be homeless. Just in case u were wondering, Im no way n a position 2 contribute. Can anyone suggest a program of some sort that we can look n2, 2 try to get a nurse 2 come and sit with her during the day. She has medicad and it wont cover that. If there is ever a fire r anything she wont be able to move. It kills me that I cant help her, she deserves so more

This is the first time I've ever responded to one of these, but your story just really troubled me...

I'm a Home Care RN Case Manager in Colorado, so things may be slightly different there, but,... my first thoughts are as follows...
1) I assume she also has Medicare then... generally if you can get a nurse involved, even though it has to be short term, you can get a CNA in there to do lots for her with physician approval...
.
2) Medicaid will cover nurses to come in weekly and fill medication reminder systems (which she probably needs ?), and then the RN can request an order from the physician to get a CNA to come in, or even Personal Care Providers to come in (depending on her limitations), to assist her with ADL's (activities of daily living) - meals, repositioning, personal hygeine.

3) There are generally local programs for "Respite Care", that Medicaid may or may not cover.

I would contact your local Center for Aging (generally listed in the phone book or call information), the local community/ public health department, a Rehab Visiting Nurse Association (may simply also be a VNA), a discharge planner at a hospital, her physician, or a medical social worker. Any and all of these folks should be able to assist you.

Gently asking you, also, two other things:
1) Is she perhaps ready for a skilled nursing facility (long term care) - if she can care for herself, she could do Assisted living, but it sounds as though she may be past that point. Medicaid generally pays for about 90% of the residents who live in nursing homes.

2) If she is terminally ill (does she have Chronic Heart Failure? or something similar), a Hospice program can be of tremendous benefit.

There are a multitude of resources available for her - sometimes just have to get the right door open to get to them.

Answer: American women taking pride in their body isn't a matter of dishonoring America, it's a matter of their own individual independence. They are free to show whoever whatever they want with no repercussions as long as they are of-age. In fact, women displaying their nude likenesses on the internet symbolizes modern American Freedom.

Stating that women slaving over hot stoves and men "bringing home the bacon" epitomizes America is just like saying horse-drawn buggies epitomizes modern transportation. It obviously does not!

America IS consumerism and a woman IS running for President. If you don't like it, shut off all of your electricity, permanently park that fancy newfangled car in your back yard (which contain pistons coincidentally), and keep on playing with your Lincoln Logs.

What are your thoughts and feelings about the Vietnam war?

Were studying it in history class and Id like other peoples perspectives on it. I dont really know what questions to ask, so Ill leave it as an open question. So, what are your thoughts and feelings about the Vietnam war?

Answer: Vietnam was a battlefield in the Cold War. After WW II the Soviet Union tried to spread their vision of Communism as far and wide as they could. The United States as leader of the free world had the Truman Doctrine as their guidelines of how to deal with the Soviet aggression. The American policy was to oppose the spread of Communism or “Contain” it.

When the Communist front group called the Viet Mihn took over control of North Vietnam after the French Indochina War in 1954 with the backing of the USSR and the PRC the United States agreed to support the anti-Communist government in South Vietnam with economic and military aid. In 1959 North Vietnam formed the National Liberation Front and started infiltrating insurgents into South Vietnam. By 1964 units of the North Vietnamese Army had been infiltrated and were attacking the army and government of South Vietnam. The United States deployed American ground troops to aid the ARVN in their fight for freedom.

From 1965 to 1968 the Communists were pined down in the rural and boarder regions unable to get at the big population centers in the urban areas. The Communists finally infiltrated most of their main-force VC and NVA units past the Americans and attacked the ARVN in the urban areas under cover of the Tet holiday truce in 1968. To their surprise the ARVN fought back and defeated the Communists. The NLF was almost wiped out, and never a major force in the war after that. The America news media was caught by surprise and misunderstood that the Communists had just suffered a huge military and political defeat. They interpreted the fact that they succeeded in launch the attack as a victory. LBJ was convinced, and pulled the military off the defeated Communists and tried to negotiate. The North Vietnamese used this breathing spell to reform and get ready for another attack. Johnson was forced not to run for reelection, and Nixon won by promising to withdraw the American troops but leave South Vietnam able to defend itself.

From 1969 to 1972 Nixon kept his promise. Most of the American ground forces were withdrawn when the Communists attacked again. The ARVN fought the NVA to a standstill, the American’s used their air power to isolate the battlefield, then the ARVN went of the offensive and started wiping out the NVA units trapped in South Vietnam. Suddenly the Communists wanted to “negotiate” again. Nixon was so anxious to get the America POWs back and withdraw the last of the American troops he made a deal with the North Vietnamese that left the South Vietnamese vulnerable to a future attack.

From 1973 to 1975 his enemies drove Nixon from office. The US Congress withdrew almost all aid to South Vietnam. The USSR rearmed North Vietnam. In 1975 the Communists attacked again breaking the cease-fire of 1973. Without US support the ARVN shot off the last of their ammunition then scattered. You can’t fight tanks with bayonets. South Vietnam was overrun, and North Vietnam won the war.

From 1975 to 1980 the Communists murdered more then 5,000,000 Southeast Asians as they consolidated their victory. Millions more were imprisoned and/or forced to flee for their lives. The United States (and South Vietnam up until 1972) were not defeated militarily. The American politicians (Johnson and Nixon) pulled the military off the Communists on at least two occasions when they were no the verge of a military victory to “negotiate” with the Communists. In the end the politicians pulled the military out and cut off aid to South Vietnam. It was the loss of political will that caused us to loose the war in Vietnam.
