President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday because the judges found his promise of disarmament and diplomacy too good to ignore.

The five-member Norwegian Nobel Committee – four of whom spoke to The Associated Press, said awarding Obama the peace prize could be seen as an early vote of confidence intended to build global support for the policies of his young administration.

They lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama's calls for peace and cooperation, and praised his pledges to reduce the world stock of nuclear arms, ease U.S. conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthen its role in combating climate change.

"Some people say – and I understand it – 'Isn't it premature? Too early?' Well, I'd say then that it could be too late to respond three years from now," Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, told the AP. "It is now that we have the opportunity to respond – all of us."

Will anyone be able to vote for obama and other global warming hoax defenders knowing that the aim is?

the aim is total control of all Americans lives? Knowing that these people want to outlaw the very air you exhale?

Answer: Global warming/climate change has just become a new religious cult based in greedy power grabbing and hopes of world domination through "climate legislation". In the past it was the religious zealots who burned the truth telling scientists at the stake today it is climate change political zealots trying to silence the truth tellers and sell the world some very expensive SNAKE OIL.

It seems global warming advocates are determined to turn logic and biology upside down. Anyone who remebers basic high school biology knows carbon dioxide is essential to plant life as oxygen is essential to human life. These two basic facts can't be separated. Only Obama-style liberals will attempt to convince us about how critical combating global warming is to the Earth's survival. As then Sen. Hillary Clinton said to Gen. David Petreaus, we must be "...willing to suspend all disbelief." I'm not willing to do so!

Global warming, or climate change, which ever they decide to call it this year, is not based on science at all. it's all based on the consensus of a few scientist who have something to gain by furthering this farce. Guess what that is? $$$$

Anyone who believes Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant should stop breathing. Since we exhale Carbon Dioxide in every breath, we are literally polluting the atmosphere. So stop breathing and reduce your carbon footprint, or say NO to cap and trade & the whole global warming hoax.

We can't project an accurate forecast a week in advance and yet we say that we're doomed in the future? I believe in eliminating waste and keeping things clean so that I, and my family, can safely enjoy the outdoors but I also know where the comforts of life come from and that is manufacturing that uses energy and supplies that are either grown or mined somehow. Follow the research grants and see what is being pushed.

I have a simple question I would like someone to answer for me, If the specific gravity (relative density) of air is 1.00 and the specific gravity (relative density) of CO2 is 1.5189, that means CO2 is heavier than air and settles on the Earth's surface where green plants need it. How then can CO2 be in the Earth's upper atmosphere and stratosphere trapping the Sun's rays and heating up the planet? Anybody? Anybody? Hello? That's what I thought.

Who is the best presidential candidate?

I hate people voting for candidates just because of their race or gender just so that there will be a black or female president, who do you think would be the best candidate for issues such as the economy and increasing foreign debt and climate change, not considering race or gender or age.

Answer: I'm not sure. I really want to see the debates in the general election when the candidates must present themselves to all the American voters and not just members of their party. I think Hillary is motivated by power and will say anything to get and maintain it, so she's out. McCain needs to flex those foregin policy muscles and give us more than the 100 years bit on Iraq. Murdering premature babies has absolutely nothing to do with a woman's right to choose what happens to her own body. Another small, innocent, body is affected far more.

Paying women to have children out of wedlock only results in more women having children out of wedlock. The children earn immorality from their mothers. Men are made irreverent because at that age, the government takes care of kids far better than the man who impregnated the mother.

Answer: Based on his answers to the recent ScienceDebate.org questionnaire, I'd say Romney and his team have a fairly good handle on most [pressing] scientific issues, albeit through an ideological filter. In fact, with the exception of his cringe-worthy comments on the scientific consensus, his answer to the climate change question wasn't completely terrible.

However, Romney's problem on this issue is two-fold:
1) The voting public is myopic. Your link notes that pocketbook issues are currently far more important to the average voter than seemingly far-flung and ambitious matters like climate change or environmental degradation. The economic climate is different than it was in '08, and with the economy, jobs, and personal income weighing most heavily on the electorate's mind, any promise of relief at the communal pump scores big points. Add in the bump he gets in those all-important coal-and-oil-producing or gas-centric automobile manufacturing swing-states (Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, etc.), and promised energy-sector jobs resulting from his "all of the above" approach (e.g. from the Keystone XL pipeline), and you see that it's not exactly a losing strategy. That's why Obama has maintained a near identical tack, and why environmentalists on the left have grown increasingly disillusioned while Obama has allowed environmental issues to take a backseat.

2) To win the election, Mitt must win both the GOP base, who have never been particularly enthusiastic about him, and the disenchanted moderates/independents who voted for Obama last go-around. Regardless of his personal feelings on AGW, he can neither fully embrace the scientific consensus, lest he lose his base, nor outright deny and risk scaring away the mutable middle. Even if he personally accepts AGW, his precarious position amongst the GOP would never allow for a "Nixon to China" type of moment, and realistically the issue would need to be introduced gradually. If he doesn't, jobs and the economy will take precedent anyway for the foreseeable future.

Yes there has been Global warming! All you have to do is look at the temp. records or even just remember a little if you are old enough! The problem is what causes it!

Global warming has been going on off and on along with global cooling since the earth was formed and a long time before man even had Fire! Now he surely did not have emissions from burning hydro carbons. Even if every man 100,000 years ago started a forest fire it would not have cause global warming since there were not that many men!

This is a Cycle that the earth goes through and man cannot change it at all. If man, even Al Gore, thinks he is so powerful as to do that then he has an ego the size of the universe! The main cause of Global Warming is the Sun spot (Flares) activity. After all it is the sun that provides our warmth. These same flares affect Radio/TV transmissions as well. If the sun provides more radiation than we have warming, if it provides less then we have cooling! Evidence of these cycles have been found in numerous places in the world.

Another cause is more earthly and involves eruptions of undersea and surface volcanoes. Undersea causes a warming of the ocean water and changes the currents etc. Surface ones cause heat as well but more so they cause Smoke and ash that block the sun rays for several years resulting in cooling.

Now, Global warming of course affects us in many ways by changing the climate and shifting the earths ability to sustain crops for the food we eat and the lumber we use etc. It is good for some and bad for others.

Now, the issue of pollution which many try to say causes global warming! The pollution is very bad and much should be done about it to protect the health of all earth inhabitants, Human, animal, fish plant etc. All suffer! We must clean it up in order to survive but it will not change the "Climate"!

Yes science believes we are now entering a period of "Cooling" because of the sun spot activity but that will not fix the pollution problem, only man can do that. Man cannot change the climate!

Every community in the world is affected in a negative way by the pollution problem because the air and water currents constantly spread it around the world. Some communities are actually helped by global warming while other suffer but most will adapt as they have for millenniums. None are helped by pollution.

Stop worrying about Global Climate change and focus on pollution for the real reasons and causes. They are not linked. Al Gore had a big hollywood production! So What? Some of it was created in the studio for an earlier movie and lifted to purport to be destruction of the glaciers. This is just politics and propaganda as usual. Answer: I believe he was talking about his 'Cap and Trade' policy. He mentioned it again recently during his overseas tour. He knows that it will raise the cost of energy - in fact he said it would drastically raise the cost of energy for the consumer, and this is the sacrifice he is asking us to make - energy will be basically rationed - government would control your daily usage and dictate which appliances, light bulbs, and hours of the day for your energy consumption.

He rationale is that we, the Americans he is supposedly representing, must sacrifice for a unproven climate change fantasy while countries like India and China do nothing. During his trip he actually said - the US has the largest footprint and developing countries like India should not have to inhibit their development by paying carbon taxes. What the heck? What about our growth - we're heading for a depression, DUH! He is such a stinking globalist - everybody is more important than us. We should suffer and become the milk cow and slave of the rest of the world.

I worked all of my life and I agree with you. This is supposed to be the land of the free. Government has no right telling us to suffer while letting the rest of the world get off scott free.

Social Security itself has a $2.6 trillion dollar surplus and can pay out 100% of its benefits until 2037, and 80% of its benefits until 2057. Currently, there is a cap on Social Security. If you make $1 million a year you pay into SS on about 10% of your income. If you make under $106,800 you pay on 100% of your income. The Democrats want to raise the cap, having the wealthy pay their fair share, to make SS solvent for decades. Republicans want to prevent that.

3. Wars - George Bush jumped the gun with false information and invaded Iraq. We're still paying to rebuild it. President Obama has brought troops out of Iraq and he got Osama bin Laden. While the hypocritical Republicans talk about cutting spending, they never want to cut where the biggest fat is, military spending. The president will continue to bring troops home from Iraq and cut money from unneeded projects.

4. Civil Rights - The world is changing and people's views change with the times. However, not everyone seems willing to change. Whether it's the utter hate of homosexuals, Blacks, women, Hispanics, or others, the Republican Party has taken a stance towards bigotry. The first bill that was passed by the Obama administration was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, that gave women the right to be paid at the same rate as men. In addition, Democrats around the country have rallied for same-sex equality as well as the official overturn of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The Republican War on Women produced 1,100 bills against women in 2011. They’re on track to top that in 2012. Democrats must be voted back in office or the Republicans will turn back the clock on our country's progress.

5. Simple Science - Teaching young children to deny scientific facts and knowledge that are accepted by nearly 99% of the scientific community is irresponsible. As the Tea Party has pulled the Republican Party to the political right, they have stepped all over science. With their denial of man-made Climate Change and their ludicrous and dangerous stance on evolution, the Republican Party has proven that if they gain anymore power that the teaching of facts might be a thing of the past.

Now, President Obama and the Democrats have their faults. Not everything they do you might agree with, sometimes you might heavily disagree. However, the difference between the two major political parties are very clear. Voting to put more Republicans in charge will only bring the country to the break of failure.
