Why do rep politicians have this tendency to strive toward diminishing benefits for senior citizens?

As early as 1995/96 the rep Congress conflicted w/ Clinton insisting on reduced funding for Medicare. Clinton refused and allowed the fed gov to shut down until Congress reached a budget agreement that excluded slashing Medicare.

Romney/Ryan wanted to replace senior benefits w/ a voucher plan that experts predicted would cost $6000 a yr. out of pocket.

As America heads toward the fiscal cliff the reps are at it again. They are tossing a reduction in senior benefits back on the table as a means to reduce spending.

Why do they keep tossing senior citizens back under the bus?
Heres another interesting stat. I just saw how Americans want Medicare left alone ... I think it was 67%. Why do the rep politicians insist on representing diminutive percentages?

The GOP could not care less about the Middle Class

Herman Cain was no more, because he was tappin that azz

Payroll tax cuts proposed, but Republicans said,

"Working people dont count under Grover Norquists pledge!"

Their concern is about Bankers and Wall Street alike

And war contractors and military might

Americans protested, while Teabaggers changed the subject

We all see trickle-down has us headed toward a banana republic

Republicans obstructed, threatening government shutdown

But the media gave chase and sought them like bloodhounds

Boehner caved, and cried some more

While the Tea Party got owned on the House Floor

Obamas ratings rose, while the GOPs ratings dropped

Mitt Romney sided with both, he flipped and he flopped

So Santa will give America a present, with his reindeer and elves

A humiliating defeat for Republicans in 2012
